Day Eighty: Well the birthday weekend continued... Got up and made heather and the boy breakfast, boy wanted pancakes and girl wanted omelettes (cheese, ham, shrooms) a little bacon on the side... we went through 2 pots of coffee today (likely why I'm listening to her stomach make monster noises right now)... And after breakfast settled, we started in on the Frosting... honestly I know Heather didn't trust me because it's kind of finicky... it started out with an argument over which pot would be best to use for a double-boiler, I won. Then she kinda took over, I'm not overly fond of marshmallow type frosting so it's not something I normally dabble with and if you want something done right you do it yourself... it's Heather's favorite, she was willing to do it herself... I helped stir... when and how I was told to. LOL I did show her how to keep it from separating while mixing in the butter... setting the mixing bowl in a larger bowl of ice-water keeps it cool even when you mix the hell out of it with the electric mixer. Once finished Lawson and I set out to decorating the cake. (See below) He's getting better at making stars with the cake decorator... he placed the candles in a small grouping in the middle of the cake. When I questioned him the reasoning behind it was that mommy always spaces his out on the cake and they are almost impossible to blow out... and then you need to wait a whole nother year at the chance of a wish coming true... thinking about it it's kinda harsh. I told Heather she has to be a lot nicer to Lawson next year because he did that for her... and if he is doing it for her, I'm sure that's what he would like you to do for him. Lawson lit the candles and we sang Happy Birthday to Heather... followed by mid afternoon cake eating for everyone. No one did a lot today, we watch a bit of tv... did some online banking... played a few games and did Pizza and Wings for dinner because it Saturday night. Lawson ate while playing games on the xbox with his friends. Heather and I started to watch a series called History 101.... it was apparently written by morons who couldn't fact find their way out of a wet paper bag... 5 minutes into season 1 episode 2, we stopped and found something more based in reality... ya, we watched a few episodes of The Ranch... and because it's her birthday weekend I even let her listen to the song at the beginning I normally skip over... I'm not a big country fan. Somewhere we got side tracked and bought $100 worth of nail polish on line... not sure how that happens, might have had something to do with my thumb but this stuff was for Heather... afterwards Heather crashed and I send Lawson to bed and then I played on the internet a bit, trolled some friends on facebook... wrote this and the fell to sleep myself. (foreshadowing) LOL
