Day SeventySeven: Got up pushed an Egg McMuffin in the boy's PieHole... Headed over to SideKick's place to pick him up and head into Timmins for a doctors appointment. The bad day I had yesterday was now plaguing SideKick... as I pull up I notice the truck in the middle of the field between the house and the trailer. Sure driving across the field is fine when it's dry (I use the word 'fine' in a relative term) but when it rains all night... how do you get it back out of the bush? Answer is: You don't... Hence why it was in the middle of the field. Going to have to figure that dilemma out another day. All went well in town, made a few stops for essentials. BulkBarn for our sugar stuff and a few more canisters since I broke that one... the gloves and escort to touch things is still in affect. ShoppersDrugmart is a little more lackadaisical, sure the tellers are behind glass but it might just be because it's in a bad section of town. The grocery is about the same but they have an employee cleaning carts full time and keeping track of the people in the store at all times... Coco-powder and Steaks for Heather's Birthday, no the coco is not going on the steaks, it's for the Chocolate Cake. Grabbed a nut from the auto place and Timmies Drive-thru on the way home... news flash the Boy like Muffins. We went home and grabbed some lunch. Obviously I was putting off that job on the car that still needed finished... after lunch I ran out of excuses, got on some work clothes and headed out to put the car together. SideKick got the spindle out of the freezer, we persuaded it into the bearings and proceeded to put everything back in place. First run failed, the axle had, unbeknownst to me, has slipped out of the transmission, the boot had failed. I realized that at about the same time I went to tighten the nut on the spindle... I pondered what gear it was in since the wheel turned fairing freely... DOH!!! I looked farther into the darkness under the car. It was poking out of the boot... so much so that it wouldn't go back in from where I was... took it all apart again. Pulled out the boot and stretched out over the end of the shaft and stuffed it back in where it belonged. Then proceeded to put it together for the 2nd time. So the only issue now is the fact that the nut was too big, I had sent him in to get another from the auto place with the old broken nut to make sure he got the right one... they didn't. I scavenged a nut from else where and we will replace the less essential nut at a later date, it's easy to get to. It actually worked... no more horrible noises, no more threat of wheel coming off and killing someone. Ya for some reason the speedo doesn't work now... not like he ever looked at it before... frankly it could have been shot for years, doubt he'd have seen it. LOL So I will rummage around online and see it I can figure out that problem... tach works fine, might just tell him to use that. Got home at 4:20pm... Heather and Lawson had already eaten dinner. I got the left overs of left overs. It wasn't enough to sustain life... I ate 2nd dinner a few hours later. Project for tomorrow... try to glue nail back together... might have to use some witchcraft. GN
