Day 105: Woke up to the alarm going off at 7 am and the boy at the end of the bed asking why the alarm was going off... ok, I don't know... maybe it's time to get up. Grabbed a shower, put on a white shirt (that will become significant later in the day) and got desserts for breakfast... cheese cake and rhubarb pie... ya still on this ridiculous diet, LOL - We picked up sidekick and took him for his doctors appointment. While he was there I went and picked up some money at the bank and they gave it to me... not sure if I want to do business with a financial institution that gives me money but hey... then went back for sidekick. OK shopping has been backing up for months... now we need to get out and find stuff we have been doing without for months now... some things are being revisited from last weeks adventure. We start in the Walmart parking lot... I get a massage: We are waiting near the red bins at the entrance, are you coming soon? 2 minutes later I pulled in the parking lot. Now I found a music keyboard and stand online that was posted last night after doing my report $40... I'm thinking I need a stand, and that one is about $50 plus tax, plus shipping... hey I'm getting a stand at a good price and they are throwing in the keyboard for free... it looked a little beat anyway but I was told it worked. I finish the transaction and put the goods in the back of the Mazda... Heather messages me... are you buying a keyboard? What do you need another keyboard for? I really have to stop having my messages forwarded to her phone LOL No, I'm not buying a keyboard... I'm buying a keyboard stand... they are giving me the keyboard for free... I promise I will throw one of the old ones out. I had one poised for the dumpster anyway. Next stop Crappy Tire... now they must know they pissed off a lot of people last week that didn't want to push their COVID infested carts through the store just because they can't count... so today as we walked in, the greeter was standing by the carts explaining to people how they didn't have to take a cart today... at least someone on the Canadian Tire board of directors is reading my COVID Reports. And low and behold they had SodaStream canisters, I sent boy back out to the car to get the old one that was laying on the floor. Bought 2 new garbage cans... ok they are recycle cans, they didn't have garbage cans in the size and type we need, so they are the same thing but blue... I'm going to have to paint the word Garbage on the side of it... even though the same guy picks up both at the same time each week... now to figure out how to get rid of the old can... TP and PT, sandals and rubber boots for the boy... meh ok lets get out before I spend too much... it was too late for that already. Off to BestBuy to see Melanie and try to buy the stuff they didn't have last week. Headset for Xbox, batteries for scale, 2 more charging cords for the apple product because if they are not replaced frequently apples will burst into flames and burn down your home if unattended. Still no tape for my label maker... might have to order that. SideKicks Lawyers to drop off paperwork... Oh wait... another text message from the wife... apparently I need to buy a sanding block and a protractor on a stick... they sell them at Crappy Tire... ok back out the far end of town again... grabbed some lunch and coffee on the way... Pick of the Crop again... They really need to get some people in there that know what the food is they are selling. Sidekick asked for a piece of chicken, Leg and Thigh (there were only 2 options... leg&thigh OR breast)... the guy behind the counter (who I know has been doing the job for at least 3 weeks now) doesn't have any idea which is which... his buddy back there looks at him like he is stupid or something (as did I) and tell him the Breast is the one with the Leg attached to it... the other one is the thigh. Which completely didn't help since sidekick asked for a thigh and leg... the confusion continued. I told him the leg is attached to the thigh... he still had to hold up different pieces of chicken until he guessed the right one... now I don't know where they find these special people, it's just nice to know they are taking in the mentally challenged and giving there lives a little more purpose and helping them to support themselves... wow... all that and I didn't use the "R" worked once, Heather will be proud of me. 3 week... 3 weeks and still doesn't have any idea what the food is called... and from what I've seen, it pretty much the same each week. Grabbed a coffee from Timmies on the way back to Crappy Tire... not at the one across the street from Pick of the Crop... we went to the one near BestBuy because they were more likely to get our order right. Fuck good help is getting hard to find lately. Walked over to the tool section in CT... nothing, ok the crappy plastic one that Heather is trying to get away from using so... I head to HomeDepot next... same thing, plastic shit... Home hardware... ditto... Walmart, hey I need a cheap pair of sandals, couldn't find any at CT when I got Boys in the morning. 2 more hardware stores... ok Heather is on her own at this point, I got 3 hours invested in finding a protractor on a stick... if they want things measured with any accuracy they can find and buy her one... if all the want is plus or minus 20 deg and they are good with that why does she care? BulkBarn... this has to be the only store that has changed and actually become more pleasant to shop at. I get a staff member to fetch things for me... I don't have to touch any of the icky bins filled with stuff... normally it's white powdery stuff and I'm dressed in black so... they supply me with gloves so they don't have covid infested carts... any they don't give a shit about the arrows on the floor... got more sweetener and some almond flour, ouch $80, but I got a servant too so... Across the road to go grocery shopping... COVID Door Nazis are no longer asking if we are together, so that's good... it was raining out so rather than wiping the carts off they just left them in the rain a while then put them inside... I guess that's a little sloppy. lot's of good sales today... chicken went down to preCOVID prices, I guess they found when you crank up the price too much people would rather have steak. LOL On the way out of town we hit Timmies again... now after ordering they ask if that's all for the day... Ummm, trick question? Like if I say no they are going to expect me to order more... or am I not allow to come back later? When they asked me this this morning I guess I lied because here I am again, apparently that wasn't all for the day... if I come back again... ok you get my point, their closing statement is just dumb, no doubt someone in management thought long and hard to come up with that to try to generate some amount of up sales... god bless their stupid little minds. Sidekick needed to get back home to go do a few jobs... we headed East. By this time it was dinner time... The boy and I pulled in around 5:30pm didn't have time to go to the farm for eggs... maybe a tomorrow thing. We unpacked the car... the Wife took a shining to the wings... so wings it was for dinner. Now you are seeing where the white shirt ties in... ya... Buffalo Chicken Wings are awesome... but not white shirt friendly kind of awesome. So after dinner I spent some time with a TideStick in the bathroom trying to fix my Callaway Golf shirt... took a while but I think I managed to save it... I hope one of the mice get hold of that wing I lost on the floor... I would love to see it's eyes bug out of it's head, they were a little on the hot side tonight. After dinner I plugged in the keyboard to see if it worked... it made a horrible humming sound but did play music... I thought for a minute. Sounds like an electrical interference you would get on an old car radio when ... hey wait a minute... I check the power supply and I check the back of the keyboard where the voltage is stamped... ya, 12 volt power supply 9 volt keyboard... I go to my junk bin... here we go 9 volt power supply, negative in the center... plugged it in, worked perfectly... so I start poking at what I hadn't been interested in before and thinking it wouldn't take too much work to put it back into good working order... this this was expensive when it was bought, like the 500-600 dollar range... I see why they sold it, likely got it from someone else, couldn't get it working with the wrong power supply and dumped it for what they could to get rid of it... LOL I'm OK with that in this case... going though the manual I found online now... wow... there is a lot to this one. Well off to do some bed time reading.
