Day SixtyFive: So morning came... Didn't want to have anything to do with it... felt like a bag of dirt, sore tired... I think I caught Fibromyalgie. I got better by noon. Woke up again and had Lunch. Heather was working in the kitchen on something... low and behold it was bagels we can eat... based kinda off the pizza crust recipe we like... they were wonderful... we split one and tested it (we were wondering if we can cut and eat them warm out of the oven (with some keto stuff that's a bad idea)... the bagels though were fine so we both then had a full one to ourselves... loaded with butter and cream cheese... OK another keeper recipe. Long story short, I was going to go the dump today with the garbage bags from cleaning out the basement... plan was to fix the trailer and load the bags on it just in case the dump wasn't open during the long weekend (the alternative was putting them in the back of the Subaru but I didn't want to get there, find it closed and then need to bring it home and unload the car, the trailer they could just sit there until it eventually opened so that made more sense). <Glad this is the short version> Now the trailer needs a light fixed (I have the kit to just rewire the whole trailer with new lights) and a wheel needs replace (we do have a new spare), so it's a doable job... HOWEVER, here is where things fall apart... I can't find the harness I bought to hook up the lights when towing it with the Subaru, which is the only other car currently working... this lead to needing to fix the Mazda... Serpentine belt... got it yesterday, not that big of a job. So I had to get to it from inside the wheel-well, the plastic and clips down there are a mess... (One of the things I didn't like about the Mazda: broken and falling off <OR> seized on and breaks when you need to remove it - those are the only 2 states that any of the plastic parts under the car can be in). Put the car on the battery charger and waited... the dump closed, the trailer is still fucked. Argh. Heather and Lawson went next door and tossed the ball around in the back yard and we stood around and talked to the neighbours for a while. The wife must have been talking to them about our Broken BBQ before I got there because at one point they offered the use of their BBQ if we needed it this weekend. While it's warm enough to be out side I should actually look into fixing ours... I did get enough of the garage cleaned the other day that I can get to the tools I need to do that job finally. I took some eyeball measurement of the old decaying BBQ and headed to the garage. A 2 foot long piece of sheet metal with a few bends this way and a few bends that way should do me... I was real close first time back to the BBQ... almost like I've done this before... took it back to the garage for a trim and slight adjustment on one of the bends (left it long so it wasn't too short and not enough bend because it's easy to add bend but not so easy to straighten)... anyway it works now. Fired it up, got it to 600 deg and burnt off some of the sitting too long in the snow crap and it seems to be ready for use. Now all I need is the large patch of ice in front of it to melt. Heather made 2 meals for Dinner... Lawson isn't overly fond of our Fried "rice" or Shrimp so he got Corn on the cob, Chicken and Potatoes, all of which he really enjoys. Our meal I enjoyed much more than the chicken, deep fried shrimp breaded with coconut crust... oh how I love those yummy little morsels of... MMmmmm.... sorry where was I, oh yes dinner. I went back for seconds and polished off everything, no left overs for tomorrow. We had some coconut flour, shreds and cajun spice left over and a bow with egg stuff in it... I warmed the oil back up and made balls out of the left over stuff... now they say you can't make 'hushpuppies' in a deep fryer with any of this Keto stuff... it normally just blows apart and makes a mess of the oil HOWEVER, I managed to pull it off... this will be something I will play with to try and figure out why mine worked and others have failed (trust me I've tried before and thought it was impossible, failed in an epic way, made a hell of a mess but...), I now know this is possible because I have 6 pristine fried doughy balls sitting on the counter. Watched a movie, didn't have the pizza and wings tonight but the shrimp made up for it (couldn't find wings in the store this week, hence the chicken drumsticks the boy had)... speaking of the boy, he headed to the basement to play with his friends... the movie was the Wrong Missy or something like that, Funny, not good for the whole family but worth watching. Packed it in afterwards... too tired to even write this.
Day 64
Day SixtyFour: Thursday, yes it's Thursday... Last night I was working on Lawson's Hockey Card for the season, he looked at it and made me use a different photo because he wasn't wearing the right shirt. Fortunately I hadn't done anything with the front of it yet, I was still working on game stats, tournaments that he won and MVP awards (which I had to sum up as got lots because I didn't have the space). So he selected a photo from a Cochrane Game, sliding over to challenge a shooter that came across the front of the net. The card was finish and approved by GoaliePow, tomorrow we will try to update some of his media accounts and post the card online. Oh before I forget, Waffles... he needed waffles this morning. The trusty side kick came by and delivered some Almond Flour, much needed and not readily available in town. Our supply of cookies is getting low, but we now have more flour, so... HotDogs, not going into details there... OK now I didn't have a lot of my art work online, some people never even knew I did that kind of stuff... Graphics, PhotoShop work, Business Cards, Tickets, Posters, Cakes, T-Shirt, Brochures, Flower Arrangements, Woodworking, Models, Food... I'm sure the list goes on... SOoooo... I started posting some of my stuff... even some random builds from Minecraft... I will be getting to adding some descriptions to each in the near future. It's a work in progress, I tried to keep the spam off my wall so everyone doesn't get bombarded with crap. If you want to view my artsy stuff go to my photos and you will find an album chalked full of goodies. Heather got home with a load of groceries... the fridge looks very much better now... Milk, Eggs, Meat, Veggies, Bread, Check check check... Had a little stir-fry and vegged in bed after dinner while Heather talked with her Aunt (good to have one sane person in the family), Lawson played with his friends online... At one point Heather asked if his whole class was online playing that at the same time... the noise level is disturbing at times. While I finished adding comments to some of the stuff I added to my Art Work Photo Album on facebook... everything from interesting to odd and amusing. Well I have some more stuff to add to that album but Since it's 2am I'm going to have to make that into a tomorrow thing.
Lawson's Hockey Card for the 2019-20 Season
Day 63
Day SixtyThree: Pancake Wednesday, well at least it was for Lawson. This morning was spent writing back to the people who reviewed Lawson's hockey footage. It's nice to get an unbiased view of what's what... It's even nicer when you're on the same page. I will be adding a link to his media accounts. The boy's pirogi level in his blood stream was getting dangerously low, I met him at the top of the steps with a refill, he squirreled it away into the basement and ate while he played games with his friends. I started the task of cleaning off the desktop of my computer... don't ask, it's a monstrous job. When Heather got home and I threw the last of the steak on the cast iron grill, HEATHER made some cauliflower and we called it a meal... shortly after the meal we looked at each other and decided that something was missing...
She then made Brownies and all was better, the stars in the universe came into alignment, we ate said Brownies long before they were cool enough to eat. Fortunately enough was made that some of them had time to cool as we tended to the burns on the inside of our heads. Oh before we burnt our mouth on yummy brownies, Heather practiced her Sax, she's work on a piece to put on the internet since her band isn't able to get together. Anyone seen the boy lately? Hmm? Sorry eating brownies can't think right now? What boy are you talking about? Never mind Have another brownie, they've almost cool enough to eat now. Once we found the boy we all say down to watch the latest episode of the Flash... looks like things are coming to an end and they beaten the series for all it's worth. Going to have to find something new to watch soon. Everyone fell to sleep shortly there after... I was left awake... slightly less deprived of hockey content since the chat the other day with Rick Knickle, he use to play in net for the LA Kings ya know, interesting guy. So I decided to start Lawson's hockey card for the 2019-20 season... Ack, stats and math while half asleep... wish me luck.

Sorry the wife got a phone call and wanted to be part of the creation process today since I didn't have time to finish this one yet. LOL I believe she doesn't think she's getting her fair share of the limelight. I told her she could write her own stuff but she's not interested in that. ROTFLMAO Soon, check back soon.

LOL and then after she got off the phone she didn't help anyway, Doh!
Day 62
Day SixtyTwo: 5:30 am 'Where's the bank card?' - Um, at the bank, I can't think at that time of day, take mine for gas for the car... ok awake and dragging ass... worse than dragging ass is I can't think. I'm sure this is how stupid people feel all the time, I almost feel sorry for them and then I realize that they don't have smart days so they have nothing to compare it to... thus must not know that that feels bad. Not sure if that makes sense, like I said, I'm having a stupid day. Maybe I'll take a nap and fix that. Boy came down and started watching videos. He's recently discovered Minecraft on the X-Box, now he can play with his friends from school more easily because he normally uses a computer (which is better) but it doesn't work well across platform so... I finally got some eggs into him for breakfast. At about 10:30 the kids all packed in their games and got ready to log into the school group... I think they are using MS Teams or something like that. It sounded like things went well from the limited French I pick out here and there. I spent the bulk of the day taking down ceiling tiles trying to trace wires to fix this electrical problem. Couldn't figure it out, the breakers and wires coming out were labeled, it should be that wire but that's not the vintage of wire going into the outlet box... so after trying to trace the wire from the panel to the outlet I went the other way around... ok long story short, at some point these outlets were put on a separate breaker and the labeling on the panel was never updated, once I found the proper breaker and reconnected the loose wire, reset the breaker, everything was fine but my day was shot and I had cobwebs in my hair. The ceiling tiles are still all over the floor in the basement, too tired, sore, can't stand, no balance... not getting on a stool and looking up. Heather got home and took Lawson to the park to toss the baseball around a bit. I fixed him up a plate of food, the rest of his steak from the other night, made some fried potatoes and 4 pieces of Broccoli, that was the order from high command, 4. Fridge is starting to look kinda grim, haven't done a Real shopping trip in almost 2 and a half months. Fuckit, Heather and I had some eggs, couldn't manage anything more than that on the energy level between the 2 of us. After Dinner I took a call from a scout who used to play pro hockey in net... he saw one of Lawson's videos and was impressed. We talked for over an hour and he almost has me convinced that Lawson actually knows what he's doing in net. But apparently he should be playing with kids that give him more of a challenge... be it AAA or with the older kids... Going to have to wait for next season to find out what COVID19 has done with the kids sports and then scramble to put him someplace... his team from last season may be moving down a division out of the Rep league so... but if there is no traveling all the teams are bone up here so who knows. This shit stresses me out, between the politics, the training issues, the movement restrictions... Argh! Going to sleep don't want to think about it now.
Day 61
Day SixtyOne: 2 months down a life time to go. The phones ringing... but I'm sleeping... maybe someone died... there was a death in the Family... the Mazda died on the side of the road at 6:10 AM. Fortunately Heather had her cell phone and remembered the home phone number... well fortunate for her anyway... I crawled out of bed, slid on my boots and headed 10 minutes up the street by Lawson's school and picked her up and brought her home... Too Cold, Too Early... I'll go back and deal with that shit when the temp isn't in the negative double digit numbers. We got home and made Breakfast for the boy and Heather. Too early for me, can't do food yet. I went to work on the outlet... it was nice that he tried to clean the area but the skills in this department are lacking. By the time I redid the job proper I made almost $6 in change that was lying on the floor when I Actually Swept the floor. The likely hood of it being two bad outlets at the same time? Pretty much none but I had to look in the box to see if there was a mouse caucus or something fried across the lines... no luck, not even a loose wire-nut or anything like that, one line in, obviously last one on the circuit and wired directly to the outlet, no voltage. So I go down to the fuse box again (now a few years back I labeled all the lines coming out of the box so I didn't have to open the box and look inside it, which would have been a good idea if I had used something to write with on the labels that didn't fade away over time)... screw it I'm not opening the fuse box. I will track it down another day when I can play a game of "Hey tell me what lights just went out". I picked up some of the tools on the bench and put them away. In doing so (this is where the worm hole effect starts to take place) I find a piece of scrap wood from the cabinets I made, nice maple. It just happens to be about the right size by the looks of it to replace a bamboo handle on a silicon spatula I'm rather fond of and use frequently (the bamboo keeps splitting and is in about 3 layers now)... so I fired up the belt sander and took it down to the right dimensions and voila a new handle. OK I fixed something, wasn't the electrical or the car but something got fix... and it's Monday... I needed a break. Lunch rolled around and Heather helped Lawson make some hot-dogs, mac and cheese for lunch... ick, I made us some omelettes, green peppers, shrooms, bacon and cheese. Then needed another rest... being upright on Mondays is hard. Heather wasn't missing anything pressing at work today and we had to still go rescue the car. In the Q and A period about "so what happen? did it just die or..." - My first question was did the car squeal like it normally does in the morning... Answer: 'No everything was good today, didn't make any noise at all' - Yup, damn thing has been squealing for 3 years, belts look good thought it might be the tensioning pulley... OK regardless if the pulley is going or not... not making noise at this point is a bad thing. Something obviously is no longer turning. We went back it fired right up, we headed home, made it 2 blocks and it crapped out again... so if there is no belt and the battery is so low the car won't run... why did it even start, that's a hell of a drain on a battery... oh wait, likely doesn't take much to turn over the sewing machine motor in it. So, I opened the hood... yup, no belt. Found the problem. I brought jumper cables, hooked the one car to the other and charged it for a bit... we got half way home on that. Died again, charged it once more... made it 2 city blocks from our house... do we drag it home or charge it again... gave it another 5 minute charge, it's hard to tow something into the driveway and then get the tow vehicle out from stuck in front of it when you actually want to go someplace. Dinner: Shit we still have a flat of wings in the fridge we didn't cook all of from Saturday night. Wing night again... oh the hardships. Some home made dip and some veggies... and we sat around the table and talked about how we weren't food snobs but Buffalo Chicken wings (contrary to local belief) are not breaded, don't have fucking BBQ sauce on them and for the love of god, don't come in any form of what people here would consider MILD... Black pepper is more spice than you find in most spicy dishes in the North. The wife and I finished watching the mini series Wacko or Waco or someplace like that in Texas... now I recall this unfolding IRL many years ago, by the time the shit hit the fan, everyone in Canada had stopped paying attention to the standoff. I can understand why and trust the governments just as much now as I did before watching this. I wouldn't go out of your way to waste 6 hours here, just accept that religion is the root of most wars fought on this planet, civil or otherwise. Bewilders me... now I can kind of understand stabbing someone for the last tuna-melt but to do so just because of differing religious views? That's messed... unless of course your religion includes believes that involve stabbing me for that last tuna-melt. Wait, err... So anyway... But I'm spending too much time with my leg up trying to survive, Mondays are hard because I typically do too much on the weekend... Some Mondays I don't even get out of bed, now this week I have a feeling that Monday is going to carry over to Tuesday. I should stage a glass of water and a few pills beside the bed tonight just in case. Oh and it looks like one of Lawson's hockey videos was reviewed by a company that helps hockey players take their game to the next level... going to have to go over that, talk to them and get back to you all tomorrow... They seem to think he's pretty good for a 10 year old... I'm going to have to break it to him he was only 8 when that video was shot. LOL Night All.
Day 60
Day Sixty: Happy Mothers Day! Yes sir... still snowing. Lawson got up at 7:30 and woke me up to come help him make breakfast in bed for Heather. OK here it is... this is something I've come up with myself, you won't find it else where... if you do they stole it from me. There were 3 breakfasts made this morning, the 1st was Heather's Coffee, Bacon and Pancakes. I am sharing this because at this point it works consistently and even the 10 year old pulled it off... Rod's GF/LowCarb Pancakes: Mix together dry ingredients: 2 1/2 tbs Almond Flour, 1/2 tbs Psyllium Husk Powder, 1 tbs Coconut Flour, 1 tbs Monk Fruit Erythritol Blend, 1/2 tbs Baking Powder, 1/4 ts Xanthan Gum, 1/4 ts Salt... mix well. Stir in wet ingredients: 2 Eggs, 1 tbs Oil, 1 ts Vanilla, 2 tbs Water. Let set for 5 minutes. Heat up pan with a generous amount of oil/butter/bacon grease what ever in the bottom, use a low heat setting (slightly lower that to cook normal pancakes, yes they take longer to cook), these should cook a lot like regular pancakes, watch for the holes from the bubbles to stop collapsing before flipping them, they are delicate. (Putting oil/butter on the spatula might help) Finish cooking on the other side until done... if you don't know what a finish pancake looks like when done do a google image search of pancake and strive for a pleasant colour. We like to mix in a few tbs of sugar free chocolate chips before letting the batter stand for 5 minutes but you can add anything you would to normal pancakes... coco powder and a little more sweetener makes nice chocolate pancakes. Serve with butter and warm sugar free maple flavor syrup. OK Back to the Report... I made Lawson eggs, over easy with bacon and toast for dipping... I still like my Omelettes, cheese and bacon today. Is it normal to have to make 3 different meals for breakfast? I'm starting to feel like we are running a restaurant some days. I went down to work on the basement a little more, Lawson helped carry out some stuff and cleaned his computer room (still pending on that outlet repair, now I can do it without crawling around in the filth under the desk. Heather made Crackers... frankly crackers might not seem like a big deal but GF crackers are mostly rice paste dried out in blobs and trust me that's making them sound far more tasty than they actually are... and LowCarb is the unicorn I've really quit looking for... but it's nice to have something to put all those yummy cheeses and whatnot on top of, you miss that after a while. So I bought some yummy cheese and brie last time I was at the store, Heather saw that and brought the crackers to the plate for lunch (Lawson ate some HotDogs, he's actually bored of cheese and crackers from school lunches and doesn't appreciate some of the more obscure cheese that we partake in). SideKick came by in the after noon, we had some stuff that needed worked out, talked over coffee and cookies (ok he ate the cookies), found a few tires for his car in the garage, hope they hold air... poked at the Travel Trailer, looks like he might enjoy a little get away in the bush. All in all got a lot of ducks in order and a little more room in the garage, but we had to go in because it's still pretty F'ing cold out there. Played a bout of MineCraft with the Boy... his goal today, kill two bird with one stone... basically you need to stay up a number of days without sleep until the flying beast start attacking in the night, you have to kill 2 of them with one arrow, so you need a crossbow with piercing on and then line them up in the air so you can shoot through one and into another, killing them both. It is doable. Check and Check mission accomplished... then the dumb ass attacked me. ROTFLMAO - now in a fight in Minecraft my money is on the boy 9 days out of 10... today apparently was day 10... he attacked and hit me with his sword to provoke me, I declined, he attacked again... My armor, Enchanted Netherite Chest Plate with Thorns 3 (LOL) all legitimate, Now Thorns takes the damage someone tries to inflict on me and puts a lot of it back on them... so when he attacked he got hurt and thought I was attacking back... ok, I got tired of him trying to beat on me, I pulled out my bow (it's about as impressive as the armor) and shot him between the eyes at point blank range... he bounced back held up his shield which defects all arrows like there is no point shooting him. Now I know he is notorious for abusing his armor, takes tons of unnecessary damage from everything stupid including just falling and he's bad at replacing things as they get worn... he laugh as I plugged a few more flaming arrows into his wooden shield. You hear CRUNCH TINK! then, Hey What the... his shield broke. Then he found out how much damage my Bow does. LOL The death screen rolls up in front of him... he respawns and comes back for more. Teleports directly to me, the arrow hits him again at point blank and bounces him back... now his armor is taking damage, 2 more shots his Diamond Chest Plate blows apart, "Hey that was my good armor!" - 'Was' being the operative work in that LOL - He runs for the Ocean, ya he was kind of on fire a little bit from the burning arrows... he puts out the flames just in time to get another arrow in the back of the head and another death screen... he TPed back to me again... LOL - hid in the water 40-50 block out with his Magic Crossbow he had just used on the Night Terrors, I was impressed, he actually hit me once from out there, I took 1/2 a heart damage... ROTFLMAO That was only a few seconds before THUNK! Bullseye! And his corpse sank to the bottom of the sea. I went into the mob grinder, he teleported to me again, "Hey!" The water carried him away and down the kill hole... he splatted on the ground... Poor boy was having a horrible day. He finally went into Creative Mode (you can't die or take damage in that mode at all) and he finally got me. Sorry but if you know Minecraft at all it was kind funny. Dinner Prep: The wife and I had the argument prior to the MineCraft (this was what prompted SideKick to leave), it was about the Steaks I had bought her for MothersDay dinner. My stance was No strings = Steak-Ums (scrawny thin good for sandwiches), 1 String = Good Steak for your average BBQ, 2 Strings = Good for Big Steak Night! (A tradition that fell by the wayside at some point, I'm going to have to revive that) - SHE's Trying to Tell Me I bought 3 Fucking Roasts! - I showed SideKick and asked him to weigh in on the debate... He ran to the door... I said Hey Man! She's not even your wife, why are you running? As much as it pains me dinner prep involved cutting the largest Steak in half [sad face] into two Steaks each 1/2 as thick as they used to be. [sad face] How do you make the Emoji with the Tears? Anyway Steak, Shrooms, Taters, Broccoli, a bottle of Pinot Grigio (before you bitch me out about the wine pairing, know that what pairs well with a steak also kills Heather, allergic to something in the Red Wines, SO...) and it's Dry, relatively low carbs. All the Steaks were prefect, both of theirs Med Rare, a little Moo left in the Middle, Lawson like a little blood on his plate... Mine, seared on the outside, Blue Rare... that should be Moo Rare LOL... I think Steak is one of the Boy's favorite food, he cut off little pieces and then pushed them in his pie hole and his Eyes Rolled back in his Head. It was like watching Jaws eat surfers. Dinner lingered... we never did get back to that game of Monopoly... maybe tomorrow. Finished off the day with a few short videos and games. After Lawson headed to bed I took the Cell Phone back from Heather... She had been playing Woody and got side tracked by some Click Bait selling dresses... I spent the next half an hour on the site thumbing threw some of the most hideous things, bringing them up to show Heather and Laughing at each... Maybe I had too much Wine... Maybe I should just go to sleep.
Day59
Day FiftyNine: Still snowing... Worked in the basement most of the day. The big piles are diminishing and I'm starting to work on the totes of miscellaneous crap that got put in the basement not because they belong there but because they didn't belong anywhere... in these bins it's hit or miss... everything from diamond rings to rats nests that fell out of the wall on or about the turn of the century. AND mostly all back filled with sawdust from the last, well, all the projects since we moved in... not that all the sawdust flies around the room, most of it get hoovered up during the cutting, the bulk of what's left over get swept up eventually but there is that stuff that blows around in the air and get in your hair and in the crack of your ass... ok, well the stuff in the crack of my ass didn't escape down there and end up in the bins, it was stuff like that that got into the bin. And I sifted through all of it... didn't want to toss anything out that mattered. So at the bottom of one of the totes in about a shopping bag of sawdust I find a ear ring the wife was looking for... the wheels and trucks for my old skateboard, Tiny little lead figures I painted in high-school and used to play D&D with, a couple tins of smokes, no cigarettes left but a few good lighter that still work, a Canadian dime from 1943 (real silver) gotta be at least worth $2.00, Heather's late grandmother OHIP card... a father's day card I didn't seem to get, it says on the envelope Do not open until June (so I have to wait a month to see who sent that)... Pogs... I found 2 containers of POGS... the bouncing Tigger that terrified my oldest son through most of his childhood (did you ever buy your kid something that was really cool but it scared the shit out of them for no good reason? This was that thing). The list goes on. I came up for lunch and had an omelette, cheese and mushrooms. Heather was making cookies (not for us - fuck it I ate one anyway, worth it), chocolate cookies with walnuts, salted carmel and chocolate chips... there are still some left, she made like 3 dozen or more, the boy is going to have to start working out to burn off the cookies. We played a little minecraft, raided one of those ocean temples and then I headed back down to the basement to continue the treasure hunt. Wood, there was a lot of scrap wood, No I mean a lot, like some idiot was hoarding it totally oblivious to the forest outside his door. Lawson took a good bunch of it out to the wood stove for a new purpose... sorry wood, you're not going to be a jewellery box but the warmth you create will bring a smile to someones face. It was Pizza and Wings night... I cleaned off the dining room table, the boy fixed his own Pizza (doesn't like all the crap we put on ours), wings (proper Buffalo Wings not the the things they call buffalo wings up here) and some taste buvrogess from my liquor store heist yesterday. The Monopoly Game came out, we played until 8pm, at this point the boy is looking good for the win if he would only buy some damn houses... he had the game well in hand from the beginning, he lapped the board 3 times before I made it around once (we play no buying on the first turn around the board), so I'm basically boned, never seen so many rolls under 5 in my life. Came to bed and the outlet the cable modem is plugged into died... it was going fine at 7:54 (last time we talked to Hey Google)... and then 8:15 when Lawson went to set an alarm to get up and make Mommy breakfast... nothing. Not the breaker, other things on the same circuit are fine, just the one outlet... it got an extension core for the night so I could post this... tomorrow I will poke at it. Any good ideas out there for last minute mothers day gifts? I usually have a few weeks of walking around the mall with the boy to look for gifts but not really a thing this year... man birthdays, anniversaries and holidays are really sucking ass this year. I mean last year Lawson spent a week building a huge statue of Heather for mothers day... sure it was in Minecraft, but it was 3d, it looked good and he spent a lot of time working on it specifically for Mothers Day (which would have been good for this year but he did it last years so...) Well he can start with making Bacon and Coffee in the morning and we will wing it from there.
Robert S
WOW
Day 58
Day FiftyEight: Friday Friday Friday... Kinda loses meaning when you don't work weekdays and there is no more partying with your friends. Back to the origin of this post, Hockey in Canada... just got word that no one is to be planning any tournaments for next year (the 2020-21 season), they are not giving out sanctioned dates, booking squat, accepting registration money, nothing... not good signs for next season. Not going to break this one to the boy until the shit has hit the fan and is spreading around the room... here's hoping for the non sanctioned events to continue. Here's another thought... if they are canceling tournaments... hows that affect the rep league and travel teams... oh dear lord... I'm going to start blocking hockey news. If I don't know what's happening maybe I will be better off. Got into those breakfast sausage and egg bite things Heather made the other day, made a good breakfast. Looked outside... Still Fucking Snowing! I went to the liquor store and tried to buy enough booze to hold out until spring actually gets here... FireTruck battery is dead, had to take the car, sure it doesn't hold as much booze as the tank in the truck but if worse comes to worse we will go out again. Hit the Post Office and Grocery Store as well... needed to get some steaks for Mothers Day. So the part for the KitchenAid food processor came in the mail today... took the unit apart, press fit, filled with crap, no way to actually clean the crap out with out breaking the part off anyway, even after extracting the old part it was still a pain in the ass to clean out... I'm sure they must have a factory in China pumping this crap out now... can't think of anything from KitchenAid that had impressed me for a long time... it's close to joining the list of companies I will no longer purchase stuff from even if they are giving it away for free... like BlacknDecker, more garbage. Anyway, it's fixed now, it will unavoidably fill up with crap again and seize up and break off again... just the way crap works now I guess. So that game of MineCraft we have been playing, we found the EndPortal and geared up to fight the Ender Dragon today... Mission successful, however we were not able to find out of the ship/village thingies in the End, going to have to go back another day. Finished off the Taco Stuff for Lunch, then Lawson asked for more... there were other left overs in the fridge that needed eaten, he made due with some rice to go with that Taco. Finished cleaning out the fridge for dinner, Heather made more of those egg and sausage things to use up the rest of the sausage, I was ok with that. LOL After dinner we all sat down and watched the latest episode of the Flash together. Heather then fell to sleep. Lawson had a special event on FortNight he wanted to watch that started at 9pm for an hour... I made an exception on the bed time thing and let him stay up for that... if he's an AssHat tomorrow it will be a cold day in hell before that happens again... no not Matheson, I mean the real Hell... it's already a cold day here. Did I mention the snow today? Argh!

Wow you sound bummed out. Did you have a lot of CV19 cases in your area ? We’ve had very few here & things are coming back to near normal. Most people wearing mask. The governor here did a voluntary shelter but he did close down many business. I’ve stayed busy working in my shop.
Rod Turnbull
Mostly bummed out about them canceling all my kids spots he loves, but also bummed out about the garage still being freezing, bummed out because stuff is breaking down faster then I can fix it... never mind catch up on the projects I'd like to be working on... but I'll survive. Personally if things go back to normal, things won't change much for me LOL. But we haven't had many cases locally and I haven't dug out my mask yet so... I'll survive. Got a new bead-roller the other day so I want to get out and start making floor panels and moving those wheel wells in a few inches, keep it looking stock to the untrained eye but getting a skosh more room in there for a little more meat. I'll start posting pictures as I start working on it in the coming months... but it was snowing yesterday.

You can easily put 10 wide. Move the springs & 12 will fit. That’s plenty wide.
Rod Turnbull
Yup pretty sure I'm going to move the springs in 2"
Robert S
That’s all you need.
Day 57
Day FiftySeven: Morning was rough, kept falling back to sleep for 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there... all the lack of sleeping at night catching up with me no doubt. Puttered around the kitchen most of the day, played some games with the boy... pretty boring day all in all. I had tomatoes, eggs and lots of cheese, playing with something new... so I thought to myself what if we used the tomato slice and saturated it in egg and parmesan cheese with some spices and herbs... then cooked them into little puck like structures... then put a pepperoni on top with some mozzarella like little pizza bites... It's a work in process, I'll let you know when it's done. Also made some nasty frozen soggy if you thaw it out fish almost palatable for dinner. Heather brought home strawberries, said they were on sale, then made me whip the cream because like I've said before; our kitchen aid stand mixer SUCKS! I swear with the bowl adjusted to the maximum height the whip is still almost an inch off the bottom of the bowl when it's running... so anything less that about 8 cups of what ever in the mixed and it just kinda moves the surface of what you're trying to mix up against the side of the bowl and stirs AIR. I swear it was something the shopping channel was pawning off with mismatched parts and attachments, it's truly horrible. Anyway the whipped cream was good on the berries. But then she also found a recipe for some egg and sausage bite... Mmmm... so how the hell I'm I losing weight. I think I hear one calling me from the fridge now... be right back... who'm I kidding, I'm going to the fridge, I won't be back until tomorrow.
Day 56
Day FiftySix: Seriously starting to think about fixing the lack of space in the numbers... Na... Boy crept into the next room and watched videos in almost utter silence this morning... I finally asked him what he was doing at about 7:30... he was just watching videos. Breakfast, French Toast... it's starting to become a common request, I wonder why the change from pancakes. Note to self, he needs more maple syrup soon. That photo (Drawing) from the last post is staring at me... It's f'ing creepy, almost like I just escaped an episode of ScoobieDoo. Shit what is today? Wednesday! I keep having this feeling that I'm supposed to be doing something Wednesday... if I was and forgot about you or what ever it was, I'm sorry, I think I've mentioned before, OLD - Can't Remember Shit! Played a little Minecraft with the boy to allow some time for his friends to all get up and about... I hate when people start calling the house too early... let me wake up, eat breakfast and take my morning shit in peace. We blew some shit up mining in the Nether. Then I got back to work on those shelves in the kitchen cupboards. As it turns out, those little pieces of Maple I saved from building the cupboards did come in handy and I turned most of the left over scrap wood into bullnose trim for 3 more shelves and the supports to hold them up... stain them and they should blend right in with everything else and look like part of the cupboards but still be removable and adjustable. We had Taco leftovers for lunch. I went back to gluing and sanding things. When Heather got home she asked what we had for lunch (she forgot hers at home today)... I thought hard... couldn't remember, she assumed I didn't feed the boy or myself. Hey, just because my brain can't remember squat that doesn't mean my stomach isn't going to send it a reminder at about that time of day, I was sure we ate something. She asked Lawson, he was kinda busy and not in a position to use his brain beyond it's current work load... 'Um, I don't know'. I got yelled at for not feeding him. It eventually came to me, we did eat... Tacos. So the other day I had bought a pork tenderloin like I typically do... it was on sale... and tonight I cut it up into good size pork chops... It made 30 of them, 4 bags of 6 each went into the freezer. the last 6 went on the grill. We made the mistake of asking Lawson how he wanted his done... he wanted Keg Steak Spice on it... Um that's for Steak... He said, Ya but aren't Pork Chops just Pig Steaks? I couldn't argue with that logic, Keg Steak Spice for him it was. Heather has this thing for seasoning salt on them, seemed to me that's kind of an 80's thing to do... I went for the custom blend of Herbs and Spices I make and keep on the shelve for just such an emergency. So we got to the rest of that Play... Frankenstein, can we give it 1.5 thumbs up? It was good, maybe it was the story that bothered me some... maybe it was because the monster was a bit of a dick... hard to feel sorry for him, which is what I assume we were supposed to be doing. Night All.

First time seeing this. You’re doing a day by day of quarantine ?
Rod Turnbull
Ya, trying to take this day by day and keep a little sense of humor at the same time. My guess is Facebook didn't share this on many people's newsfeed. LOL
Robert S
Hard to say. I’m on & off. Might have just missed it
